What year was the first Women’s Rugby World Cup held?
The first instance of a Women’s World Cup dates back to 1970 in Italy, with the first tournament of that name taking place in July 1970.
Where was this played
The Inaugural Women’s Rugby World Cup took place in Wales over a two week period in April, 1991. Organized by just four women but featuring twelve teams, the WRWC provided an incredible opportunity for women’s rugby athletes to compete at an international level.
